Short breaks are a speciality at Merrymeet, a beautiful, converted stone barn sleeping 16 in the southern Peak District. Just don't forget to bring your walking boots, wellies and bikes-there are some fabulous footpaths right from the front door down a very pretty rural valley, where you can picnic by rivers and take advantage of the pub half a mile away. The house also has three acres of natural fields to itself,which guests are free to use as they wish.
There's a modern kitchen, a large living room, severn bedrooms, a dining room, comfortably seating 16, a pretty terrace with outside seating and a barbecue, and a games room with table tennis.

The great strenghts of Merrymeet, besides its location, are a high level of charm, comfort, robustness and homely relaxation. For a break in gorgeous countryside, with lots of fresh-air activities, National Trust properties, pretty villages and even Alton Towers close by, it's hard to beat.
