Although very much a local's pub with the usual pub games, the pub has an excellent reputation for the home-cooked food served in the lounge and dining room. Across the road is a converted barn with four en-suite bedrooms which are tastefully decorated and furnished. Staying at the Cheese is an ideal base for those visiting the Peak District and the Alton Towers theme park is a short drive away.

Lathkill
A spacious ground floor Super King room, which can also be made into twin beds on request. Named after the stunning Lathkill Valley, renowned for its crystal-clear river and beautiful limestone scenery.

Dovedale
Our fully accessible ground floor Super King room, which can also be arranged as twin beds. Complete with a wheelchair-accessible wet room, it’s named after the iconic Dovedale Stepping Stones and dramatic limestone rock formations.

Hartington
A comfortable first floor King room with en suite facilities. Named after the picturesque village of Hartington, famous for its rich cheesemaking heritage and the delicious Hartington Stilton featured on our popular cheese board.

Manifold
A cosy first floor King room with en suite facilities. Named after the beautiful Manifold Valley, known for its wooded slopes, dramatic rock pinnacles and fascinating mining history.
