About

Sandon Hall has been the ancestral home of the Harrowby family since 1776, when Nathaniel, 1st Baron Harrowby bought what was then a shooting lodge and had it transformed by the architect Samuel Wyatt into Sandon Hall. Disaster struck in 1848, when the Hall was so badly damaged by fire that it had to be rebuilt. The renowned architect William Burn designed the existing neo-Jacobean style house, completed in 1854.  The Hall today is still a family home with functions and events taking place in certain parts and with 50 acres of formal gardens and over 400 acres of parkland there is certainly no shortage of space to enjoy at Sandon Hall.

Grand yet comfortable, Sandon Hall is spacious, stunning and the ideal venue for any event; big or small; business or pleasure. It's sophisticated interiors and picturesque grounds make it a dream location for distinctive weddings, civil partnership ceremonies and receptions. The South Lawn, to the rear of the Hall, is ideal for a variety of outdoor activities including archery and pistol shooting, or perhaps something quieter if you are feeling less energetic. Whether it’s an activity you are after or just a quiet stroll during a break, the beautiful gardens will be a welcome haven in which to relax as you wind down after a long meeting or seminar.

The Park is also a perfect location for a variety of outdoor activities and events which have included car shows, concerts, gardening fairs and outdoor theatre productions.
