About

Urban Wilderness CIC is an arts organisation based in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, with the mission to bring joy, connection and inspiration to the places they work in.

Founding co-directors Isla Telford, Jenny Harper and Laurel Gallagher are three women with a driving belief that inclusive access to high-quality art can transform people and places. Their base town is now celebrated as an example of how place-based creative interventions can make significant changes personally, environmentally and economically.

The team work with local communities to co-create events which bring local heritage stories to life in large-scale celebrations. Their annual flagship events, Longton Carnival & Pig Walk Parade (April) and The Winter Gathering (December), are held in Longton Town Centre and attract audiences of 30,000.
