Duo Tanwen consisting of Ruby Howells (flute) and Bonnie Scott (harp) was created in 2020 during the first year of their undergraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music.
The duo who have known each other since early childhood, have a particular passion for performing works for female, underrepresented and global majority composers.
They have performed in venues such as Regent Hall, Kenwood House and Senate House and most notably in the presence of HM The Queen and HRH The Princess Royal.
Duo Tànwen are fast establishing themselves as an in-demand chamber duo for both public recitals and private engagements.
In this programme they have pulled together works predominantly by female composers many of whom have been partly forgotten by history.
Much of the music also centres around the themes of nature and night.
