LEEK TEXTILE WEEK

It is well known that Willam Morris visited Leek on many occasions while learning about natural dyes with Thomas Wardle. But did you know that many famous men also visited the town? Come along to Cathryn Walton's talk featuring some of them, including Walter Crane, Edmund Street. John Dando Sedding, Oscar Wilde, D H Lawence, Norman Shaw and George Bodley. See stained glass windows designed by Burne-Jones and others. Also featured are talented Leek artists who moved away from the town including Platt, George Young Wardle and J. S Rigby. Cathryn is a well known local historian who has written many books featuring the town and its people. She continues to present talks and walks featuring Leek's amazing history.
