About

LEEK TEXTILE WEEK

The margins of the Bayeux tapestry are full of strange little naked people, but certain parts of their anatomy were omitted when Leek Embroidery Society produced their Victorian replica. Learn how to recreate one of these, or choose one of the other strange creatures that lurk in the margins of mediaeval art. We will work with naturally dyed wool using laid and couched work, the stitch used for the Bayeux Tapestry, to recreate the true colours of mediaeval textiles. There will be a choice of images for you to make based on the marginalia from the Bayeux Tapestry. You can take away your work to finish at home.

£60.00 per person
