Caldon Canal Heritage Walk

About

Join us on Saturday 21st March for a free (donations welcome) guided walk exploring the Caldon Canal in the Denford and Longsdon area. Meet at 10am on the canal towpath at Bridge 39 (Wall Grange) near Deep Hayes Country Park. You will learn about the history of the canal in this area and how the route was changed twice after the canal was first built, in 1801 and again in 1841. Join us on the day to find out why, and how the magnificent Hazelhurst Aqueduct was a later addition, on this 3 mile leisurely figure of eight walk between Deep Hayes and Hazelhurst.
