About

Wander through the horrors of the historical justice system and the stories of unfortunate Staffordians on trial. This walk takes a journey through medieval punishments in Stafford up to the Victorian era gaol, with a focus on the real human lives of the people who lived there.

Please note that the content of this walk is a great deal grimmer than our other walking tours, and is not recommended for anyone aged 13 or younger! For more details about the sensitive content please email elizabeth.short@staffordshire.gov.uk.

This walking tour is around one mile in duration, with occasionally uneven pavement but no steps. Tickets are £5 per person, please book ahead via our online shop.
