LEEK TEXTILE WEEK

Join Becca Smith in this eye-opening experience. You may know Stockwell Street like the back of your hand- or you may have never visited before, but everyone will see this fascinating part of Leek in a different way after this drawing workshop.

You will be gathering textures, collecting symbols, and motifs, hinting at gables and window panes, and making evocative, expressive drawings in graphite.

Becca will provide you with all the materials you’ll need, including drawing boards, good quality paper, graphite sticks and pencils, an eraser and a sharpener. You’ll be guided in a variety of drawing approaches and warm up with some engaging drawing activities to make everyone feel comfortable.

Our meeting point will be outside Spout Brewhouse (which is closed on Wednesdays) and we will draw around the Nicholson Museum and Art Gallery area of Stockwell Street. Everyone is welcome to share their memories and historical knowledge of the area.
