Explore the Geology of Ilam Park

About

Discover the fascinating history of the Peak District.

Learn about the age of the rocks and how the landscape was formed millions of years ago when the area was underwater. Our experienced guide will show you how to look for fossils in the spectacular landscape and even show you how to conduct your own geological survey.

Perfect for families, the walk is approximately 3 miles over fields and occasional rocky terrain. Accompanied children aged 8 years and over welcome.

"Visitors will be able to examine the strata from the Milldale Limestone sequence and geological structure exposed in and around Ilam Park with explanation and commentary along the route.
