About the film
Reginald Mitchell, famed inventor of the Spitfire aeroplane, was born near Kidsgrove and studied engineering and mathematics at night school. In 1927 he became Technical Director at Supermarine and developed the world-famous aeroplane. Mitchell's Spitfire became a famous emblem of World War II.
