About

LEEK TEXTILE WEEK

Wallpaper maker Deborah Bowness and painter Oliver Crowther invite you to a flag making workshop. We will consider flags as visual language that draws on a variety of influences and applications: from heraldry to semaphore; state identity to public installation and street celebration. To mark Leek Textile Week we will be considering the legacy the textile industry left on the townscape through the building of mills the community that evolved in and around them.

You will explore a variety of processes including fabric collage, block printing and painting.

This is a free workshop and is suitable for children and adults.
