Step into the candlelit Great Hall of Tamworth Castle and enter the dark, extraordinary world of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.

Shelley writes her tale by flickering candlelight and takes you on a journey through Victor Frankenstein's youthful fascination with science and his desperate quest to unlock the secret of life, his creation of the Creature and the devastating chain of events that follow.

But this is more than a story about a monster.
At its heart, Frankenstein is a story about ambition, responsibility, loneliness, prejudice and the human desire to be loved and understood. The audience is invited to question who the real monster is — the Creature, his creator, or the society that rejects him.

Expect an immersive evening of gothic storytelling, theatrical performance, atmospheric sound and candlelit spectacle, bringing Mary Shelley's extraordinary imagination into one of England's most historic settings.
