About
After Heidi Talbot split from her husband of 11 years, the musician John McCusker, she was forced to look elsewhere for a producer and musicians for her next album. She had no difficulty, though, in pulling together an international group of musicians including her friend Mark Knopfler and Scottish musician/producer Adam Holmes. The result has been described as "a crowning achievement in her 20-year career". It shows a UK folk veteran going transatlantic, an unconscious return to her earliest years as a performer.Irish born Heidi became well known in the US as a member of Cherish the Ladies but now lives in Edinburgh, and it's hardly surprising she should develop a style that switches easily between Celtic and Americana. But subtlety is Talbot's magic ingredient. From her "mesmerising" and "intoxicating" gossamer voice to the delicate re-working of traditional and contemporary material that has earned her rave reviews for her records and live performances.
Heidi is a warm and engaging performer and over the past twenty years has performed all over North and South America, the UK, Ireland, Europe, Japan, Australia and New Zealand, in the finest Concert Halls and International Festivals. She is equally at home in front of a Symphony Orchestra, a Performing Arts Center, a Folk Festival or even at the White House. She has shared the stage and recorded with Mark Knopfler, Graham Coxon (Blur), Eddi Reader, Idlewild and many more.
Heidi recorded four solo albums while signed to Nashville-based record label Compass Records. She subsequently recorded three more solo albums on, Under One Sky Records, and her new album 'Sing it for a lifetime' is scheduled for release in Spring 2022.
