About
Every relationship reaches a crossroads some time. As dawn breaks, Maggie is heating milk and Gary wonders what she’s doing out of bed. Maybe it’s time for an honest conversation – but how much honesty can this marriage take? Award-winning theatre company Madam Renards presents a raw, touching and funny portrait of a 21st-century marriage.
This David Eldridge play dates from 2022 when it was first presented at the National Theatre. It’s the second of what is to be a trilogy about life in a marriage, starting with how it comes about – “Beginning”; the stresses, doubts and (maybe) re-thinking in this next stage “Middle”; and, still to come, “End” which is to open at the National Theatre in November.
“A towering production.. Beautifully measured and paced uncluttered performances” – Buxton Fringe review
“It feels like a true and tender representation of a marriage in its middle stages” – What’s on Stage
“A raw, touching and funny portrait of a 21st-century marriage” – National Theatre
