About
This summer, we are collaborating with Wild in Art to bring you a 'hare-raising' adventure through our 1,000 acres of wonderful!
Our new interactive story trail, 'Oli & Nel's Hare-Raising Adventure: The Tale of the Lost Lyrebird,' will follow the story of Weston's resident hares, Oli & Nel, who are on a quest to find the lost lyrebird who has gone missing from the House. Guided by clues and helped by wise and whimsical hares like the Listener, the Watcher, the Ranger, the Gardener and the Host – Oli & Nel need your help to find the lost lyrebird.
Wild in Art are creative producers of spectacular and innovative public art trails and their trails include 3D sculptures which are creatively painted by artists across the country. Oli & Nel's Hare-Raising Adventure will feature eight 6ft, brightly coloured, hare sculptures which have been specially selected for Weston's iconic landscape.
The story of Oli & Nel's Hare-Raising Adventure has been created by the team at Weston and takes inspiration from the whimsical poems and stories written by Lady Diana Bridgeman in the 1900's which refer to key features on the estate such as Temple Pool and Pendrill's Cave. Lyrebirds are also notoriously hard to find as they imitate the sounds of their landscape – an added challenge for Oli and Nel as they search for their Lyrebird friend.
Oli with his trainers, and Nel with her clue journal – are you ready to find the lost lyrebird?
Oli & Nel's Hare-Raising Adventure will open at Weston Park on Saturday 12th July and will run until Sunday 14th September. Visitors who take part in the trail are invited to purchase an activity pack for £2 and each chapter of the story will be accessed via a QR code on each of the hare sculptures. Activity packs can be purchased from the Visitor Welcome Desk upon arrival.
Book your tickets in advance online as save 10% on standard admission prices.
