About
To celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee at the Brampton Museum in Newcastle under Lyme, we are taking you back to the 1950s, the year of the Queen's coronation.
There will be live music from 1950s music trio the Baker Street Bells (Pictured), a 1950s dance performance by the DJ Swans of Daniel Jones DANCE at Jubilee2 and a specially commissioned archive film showing Newcastle's royal celebrations in years gone by.
Throughout the day families can win a prize in our Jubilee trial around the museum and you can pre-order a luxury picnic box from the Little Vintage Tea Room.

Film Show
During the day there will be chances to see a special film show of Her Majesty the Queen's visits to North Staffordshire over the past 70 years. In fact the earliest filmed visit to Newcastle was in 1949 when she was still Princess Elizabeth and there are lovely shots of her coming along the Ironmarket between the guards of honour and the crowds. And there is a film of 1973 - unseen since its TV broadcast - of the Queen and Prince Philip here in Newcastle to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the Borough receiving its Royal Charter in 1173. Her Majesty gives a speech on the balcony of the Civic Offices in Merrial Street and then is seen among the crowds thronging the High Street. We also include sequences of events and street parties over the years celebrating her various Jubilees.r
