About
We will take in some of the spectacular features and points of interest around the Manifold Valley and Grindon. It’s our ‘best of’ the area! The walk starts along the Manifold Way before climbing the steps to Thor’s Cave and on to Wetton and the beautiful Wetton Hills. We then take a winding dale back down to the Manifold and climb to the top of Ossam’s Hill, which is the site of a WWII air crash and has panoramic views across the Staffordshire Moorlands and Derbyshire Dales. Through the quiet farming village of Grindon, there is the option to stop for coffee/cakes/lunch at the Pipistrelle Café before the final mile downhill back to Weag’s Bridge.
