SMWF 2026 Visually Impaired walk In beautiful Dimmingsdale

About

Staffordshire Moorlands Walking Festival 2026

To celebrate Staffordshire Day, we are hosting an accessible countryside walk, offering a quiet, inclusive way to experience nature, focusing on sound, texture, and atmosphere.

By removing barriers to access, we are promoting the countryside as a space for everyone, regardless of ability. This gentle celebration highlights the importance of inclusive green spaces and ensures more people can connect with and appreciate Staffordshire’s landscapes.

Celebrate Staffordshire Day with a countryside walk. The route has been carefully chosen with accessibility in mind, and will be guided by CPRE Staffordshire volunteers. We will begin at the Ramblers Retreat in Dimmingsdale, before talking a leisurely route through the valley. The walk (approx 4-5 miles) will finish back at the Ramblers Retreat in time for a light lunch.

Dimmingsdale is a lovely part of the Staffordshire Moorlands, although it is somewhat remote. If you need support getting to the venue, please let us know in advance, so we can make arrangements for accessible transport.

This walk is suitable for all abilities, the route has been carefully chosen to be accessible to those with visual impairments. The route is wheelchair accessible. Limited numbers, please book early.
