This is a Severn Trent Ranger walk through different habitats from the reservoir to the Mermaid Inn and back. We will look at the catchment area of the Churnet, land use and geology. We may see hares and hear curlew. Bring packed lunch and drink. Sometimes rough and uneven terrain and gradients, many stiles and crossing of streams/bogs. 7.5 miles with ~450m of ascent.   Some steep ascents and descents, uneven ground and stiles. There may be livestock present and it is muddy in parts.
