About
As the night draws in,
St Giles After Dark comes alive...
St Giles After Dark: CINEMATIC is a brand-new immersive live music experience created especially for the extraordinary surroundings of St Giles the Abbot in Cheadle.
For one night, this historic church will be transformed by hundreds of flickering candles and atmospheric architectural lighting for two intimate one-hour performances combining piano, pipe organ, voice, guitar and flute.
The programme brings together cinematic music, familiar songs reimagined especially for After Dark, classical favourites and original music. Audiences can expect music including Hans Zimmer's Chevaliers de Sangreal from The Da Vinci Code, Oasis' Half the World Away in a special After Dark arrangement, César Franck's Panis Angelicus, Rodgers & Hart's My Funny Valentine, John Williams' Theme from Jurassic Park and more.
The evening will also offer the opportunity to experience the extraordinary sound and power of the St Giles pipe organ within the building itself.
Performers include Jarrod Ford on piano and organ, baritone Ashley Kirkham, Gemma & Chris of Unlucky Strike Duo, and flautist Matt Cliffe, with collaboration between the musicians throughout the performance.
Intimate, emotive and designed specifically around the atmosphere and architecture of St Giles, CINEMATIC is the first event in the new St Giles After Dark series — inviting audiences to experience this beautiful Cheadle landmark in a completely different way.
Two performances take place on Saturday 21 November 2026 at 7pm and 9pm.
Tickets from £15. Capacity is limited and advance booking is recommended.
