Austin Butler, Michael Shannon, Jodie Comer and Tom Hardy lead an all-star cast in Bikeriders, Jeff Nichol’s (Loving, Mud) latest. An exhilerating, full throttle period drama, it’s derived from Danny Lyon’s 1967 photographic study of bikers in the Midwest and pays tribute to classics like Easy Rider. Inspired by the Outlaws MC, the Chicago-based club Lyon’s book captured, it follows a fictional club ‘the Vandals’ over the course of a decade. After a chance encounter at a bar, strong-willed Kathy (Comer) is drawn to Benny (Butler), the newest member of the Vandals. The club begins to evolve, transforming from a gathering place for local outsiders into a dangerous underworld of violence, forcing Benny to choose between Kathy and his loyalty to the club.
