Walsall Operatic Society's (WOS) production of The Full Monty will take place in the Prince of Wales Theatre, Cannock this month. Based on the much-loved cult classic comedy directed by Peter Cattaneo, The Full Monty musical follows six men forming a male striptease for money. This show has has a vault of new, catchy songs and hilarious shenanegans and is perfect for a girls night out.
While promoting their show, WOS has also been raising money for the charity, Prostate Cancer UK and has pledged that 50p from every programme sold will be donated. According to the charities statistics 1 in 8 men may get Prostate Cancer. The earlier that signs are found, the better the chances of being cured. Donations to Prostate Cancer UK go towards research and raising awareness.
Walsall Operatic Society has been running for 68 years and has showcased countless musicals and concerts, most recently, rock opera RENT in May 2022, following various reschedules over the covid period - originally set to be performed in May 2020 and eventually sold out when they showcased 2 years later. Their show before this, Hello Dolly won Best Musical 2019 at the NODA Awards. Walsall Operatic Society looks forward to adding this comedy to its repertoire and hope that audience members enjoy this as much as they've enjoyed rehearsing it.
