About
THREADS OF VICTORIA - A celebration of Victorian fashion
Saturday 14 February - 15 March 2026
Location: Withdrawing Room, Tamworth Castle
This exhibition is a collaborative project between Tamworth Castle and South Staffordshire College, working with their Fashion & Textiles students (UAL Level 3). It is inspired by Queen Victoria's 1843 visit to Tamworth and the Castle's Victorian textile collections — including the rare sample fabrics owned by the Queen's dressmaker.
The exhibition features:
22 student-made Victorian-inspired garments and undergarments displayed on mannequins
Selected Victorian collections from the Castle
Historic sample fabrics from Queen Victoria's dresses
Also during February half term week (14-22 Feb) Families are invited to enjoy a range of hands-on, self-led activities inspired by the reign of Queen Victoria. Get curious with Victorian optical illusions, try out deportment and etiquette, explore Victorian school-inspired activities,
