Welcome to Tamworth Wargames Club demonstration.
11am - 3pm in the Great Hall on Sunday 22 March.

Join Tamworth Wargames Club for a day of tabletop battle tactics and wits.

All played out against the backdrop of our beautiful medieval Great Hall.

This time the theme will be a dark age battle of Saxons vs Vikings. The Battle of Meretun was on 22nd March 871 where King Aethelred and his Saxons, including his (not yet great) brother Alfred, fought the Vikings. The Saxons lost that day, so it's high time for a rerun!

Anyone can come and watch - you can also join in!

Included in general admission, no further cost or booking required.

The session is run by Tamworth Games Club, using miniature figures on a table top terrain. The games club recreates battles and skirmishes from a number of different periods – Roman, Early Medieval, Napoleonic and World War II.
