About
Join Mark and members of the Friends of Ladderedge Country Park group to discover the incredible wildflowers that grow here.
We'll take a leisurely stroll focusing on plant life at the site, but also noticing any other nature we come across. Ladderedge has traditional hay meadows with abundant yellow rattle and records of greater butterfly common spotted and northern marsh orchid. The site also has breeding willow tit and in recent years one or two pied flycatchers have started nesting.
Meet at the main car park at Ladderedge country Park - Indicated by a brown sign off the Newcastle Road A53 located adjacent to Westwood Golf Club.
It is advised that attendees park at a location away from the car park and walk to the meeting point. Parking is extremely limited with only perhaps 10 spaces. People should be advised that there is also a 2m height restriction barrier
